The proofreader does not read.

The proofreader is like a doctor: they check if something is wrong with the body without actually looking at the body, unlike the reader.

The reader is like a painter: they admire the body and perceive its beauty on an emotional level.

The copy editor is the worst! They’re like a gym coach: "Lose here, gain there, say goodbye to everything you love!"
