  • DEARNGE SOCIETY is a dynamic creative production company and entertainment platform that passionately celebrates the joy and creativity of Queer Africans both on the continent and in the diaspora. Established in 2020 and based in Ontario, Canada, DEARNGE SOCIETY has quickly made its mark with its first productions: the acclaimed audio series Contes et légendes du Queeriqoo (2020) and the hilarious short film Don’t Text Your Ex (2022), both of which have garnered multiple awards.

Contes et légendes du Queeriqoo (Producer, researcher)

  • One of the early productions of DEARNGE SOCIETY, developed in April 2020 and launched in May 2020, is the award-winning audio series Contes et légendes du Queeriqoo (transl. "Tales and Legends from Queeriqoo"). This series presents philosophical tales that involve extensive research, offering listeners the opportunity to learn and discover new insights. I highly recommend checking out the tale "Police au pays Montfermeil" featuring Jade Almeida, where you can delve into the history of the police, the future of education, and Deaf activism.

    Excitingly, DEARNGE SOCIETY secured sponsorship from PRX and Google through the Google Podcasts Creator Program. As a result, I made the decision to assemble a dedicated team for season 3:

    Contes et légendes du Queeriqoo received the OUT d'Or award in 2021, presented by the Association of LGBT journalists. The award recognized the series in the category of Digital Revelation.

Chaque conte est l'occasion d'apprendre quelque chose, voire plein de choses.     Don’t Text Your Ex benefitted from the funds, trainings and facilities of the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) and the Re:Focus relief fund from Inside Out LGBTQ Film Festival.

  • I cherish an old dream of revolutionizing the education system in Cameroon and, why not, Africa. Publicis Conseil (Strategic Planner for Wonderbra and Playtex)

  • Since my teenage years, I have been fascinated by the world of advertising. So my first business experience was at Publicis Conseil on the Champs-Élysées✌🏾😎. During my time there, I had the opportunity to work on strategic planning for two main accounts: Wonderbra and Playtex.

    ⛅︎ For WONDERBRA, the objective was to rejuvenate its customer database. To achieve this, I conducted in-depth research on the consumption habits of French women aged 18-25, their perspectives on lingerie, and their attitudes towards sexuality. I initiated discussions on various online forums, such as AuFeminin, and organized a panel study involving 12 young female volunteers. Additionally, I engaged in trendwatching through moodboards.

    ⛅︎ As for PLAYTEX, the target audience was European women over the age of 45. This presented an intriguing and challenging task, as I had to understand a market segment to which I did not personally belong. I conducted extensive research on how senior women perceive their bodies, beauty, and sexuality. The findings varied across different time periods and geographical locations. The aging European population (the aging European population, the greed of billionaires, tomato, tomato) contributed to an increased representation of senior bodies in the media.

  • Dès mon adolescence, j'ai été fascinée par le monde de la publicité. Ma première expérience professionnelle s'est donc déroulée chez Publicis Conseil. J'ai découvert le planning stratégique à travers deux grands comptes : Wonderbra et Playtex.

    ⛅︎ WONDERBRA souhaitait rajeunir sa clientèle. J'ai donc étudié les habitudes de consommation des Françaises de 18 à 25 ans, leur regard sur la lingerie et sur la sexualité. J'ai lancé des sujets sur des forums sur Internet (AuFeminin...) et j'ai réuni un panel de 12 jeunes femmes volontaires. J'ai également beaucoup observé les tendances à l'aide de moodboards.

    ⛅︎ PLAYTEX s'adressait aux femmes européennes de plus de 45 ans. C'était très intéressant et stimulant de comprendre un segment de marché auquel je n'appartenais pas. J'ai mené une étude sur la manière dont les femmes âgées se sentaient concernées par leurs corps, leur beauté et leurs sexualités. Les conclusions variaient dans le temps et dans l'espace. Le vieillissement de la population européenne (ou est-ce la cupidité des milliardaires ?) a contribué à mettre les corps des seniors à l'écran et dans les médias plus souvent qu'auparavant.

Rothco (Qualitative researcher, Strategic planner for Kerry Foods and Lyons)

  • For 23 years, before its acquisition by Accenture, Rothco was an independent creative agency located in Dublin, Ireland, that had worked for several brands from Heineken to Meteor and won many awards. Rothco outsourced its strategic planning to me aka Profession:Scribe whenever it came to French-speaking markets:

The Series Philosopher (Researcher)

  • When I was working as a marketing manager in Germany, I was worried about losing my proficiency in English and my intellectual capabilities, as my brain wasn't being stimulated as much as before. So I decided to create a philosophy blog, which would necessitate reading numerous essays in various humanities disciplines such as political science, history of religion, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, post-colonial studies, etc. And because of all this reading, one thing led to another, and Jo Güstin was born.

  • À l’époque où je travaillais dans le marketing en Allemagne, je craignais de perdre mon anglais et mes compétences intellectuelles, car mon cerveau n'était plus stimulé comme avant. J'ai donc décidé de créer un blog de philosophie qui, pour l'alimenter, m'obligerait à lire beaucoup d'essais de sciences humaines (politologie, histoire des religions, sociologie, anthropologie, études de genre, études post-coloniales, etc.) Et à cause de toutes ces lectures, de fil en aiguille, un déclic s'est fait dans ma tête et Jo Güstin est née.

As I always say:

Producing is like juggling balls, but those balls have a mind of their own. They can get COVID or have a family emergency in the middle of a shoot because their baby daddy screwed up. Producing is about trying to make an amazing show with the remaining balls while searching for the perfect memes to cheer up the missing ones.
