The Roncesvalles Quiet Book Club #3

EN

Fleece can be pretty warm. I may look fresh, but I am hot!

The Roncy QBC #3 was this morning at SAVA, 2nd day of the week for some, day 5 of being sick with la crève for me.

We were 2 writers and 2 readers. We met a new friend from Parkdale named Chris, who brought a non-fiction book with a great cover and a cool title: NEURODIVERGENT, BY NATURE by Joe Harkness (and yes, it talks about nature).

Alex, whom I met last week, came back, once again with two books (I forgot to make her count to ONE in public, as per the rule of the QBC, but maybe I'll just drop that rule, Alex can bring as many books as she wants. Plus, she takes pretty cool pics, look how fresh and healthy I look). The book she shared a quote from is a novel by Chloe Michelle Howarth called SUNBURN. Here's her favorite quote from the session:

"Whenever there is a silence to fill, it's lovely Niamh who must fill it."

I wonder if lovely is an adjective for Niamh, or an adverb like "likely". Either way, it's pretty.

Buffy, who was there at the very first QBC, kept working on her manuscript, and so did I! And neither of us want to talk about it.

Last week, I wrote 4 pages during the QBC, and not a single sentence ever since. Today, I managed to write 1.5 page (one page within the last 5-10 minutes of the session, which means the alarm went off when I was finally just entering "the zone"). Well, there's still next Tuesday!

NEW VOCABULARY ENTRIES from NEURODIVERGENT, BY NATURE, as defined in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

  • EPIPHANIC (adj.): of or having the character of an epiphany --> see EPIPHANY: an appearance or manifestation especially of a divine being // a usually sudden manifestation or perception of the essential nature or meaning of something

  • PHONOLOGICAL (adj.) --> see PHONOLOGY: the science of speech sounds including especially the history and theory of sound changes in a language or in two or more related languages

  • ADAGE (n.): a saying often in metaphorical form that typically embodies a common observation

  • FRENETIC (adj.): marked by fast and energetic, disordered, or anxiety-driven activity : frenzied, frantic

I had a blast, y'all! It went too fast. I didn't keep writing after 11 AM because I had an interview at noon. Now I'm gonna take a nap and call it a day. I can't wait to get a job. I will keep taking naps, but at least I'll get paid. #FunnyBrainyRoncy
